2022 Conference Theme
Shifting Teaching Paradigms:
Examining Inclusive, Dynamic Practices

This year’s theme encompasses the idea of adjusting the models we’ve been using to facilitate learning in our classes. It represents changing the direction of the lens through which we see our students and looking at them holistically; not just as people who need our language expertise, but also as people whose backgrounds can add a rich context to the classroom. It focuses on shifting our ideas about the methods we use to teach, and the curricula we design, so that it’s more sensitive to the needs of our diverse body of students. Last but not least, it addresses embracing technology in a way that moves our teaching forward and helps build confidence in our students as active citizens in this increasingly tech-focused world.
